Project #2 - Germany => To Munich

7th December 2008
Munich, well, what can i say about it? I bet most of you guys heard this, Bayern Munich before right?
Ei, its not the name of a bread ok...... its the famous football club in Germany if not the world.......at least i know them that is.......
So, today, we, me and my colleagues, took the chance to go to this fantastic place, which is the capital by the way, and explore something we have never explore before until this morning. I would say that it was a great experience to go to an old
town full of traditions and not to mention the astonishing architecture finishing on the building lining up left and right of your path. You would be able to see all those pictures below and hopefully, you guys would be able to enjoy itas i did.
Anyway, before i start with all those pictures, i would start off a little small summary of what we did and went through in this trip. So, get ready to listen to my sleepy story ok........

Well, we started of early as we plan to go to a lot of places in Munich which famous for its wonderful food as well as their very old buildings. We basically plan to cover most of the sites in Munich but bear in mind, this seems to be impossible as the place is not small at all, not like my house's lawn ok.
We started off by walking to the nearest train station which about 10 minutes walk from our apartment and by the time we reach the train station, i was just around 7.30am. We wanted to buy a package ticket that would be able to cover all 4 of us and luckily, there is such thing. They have a ticket that cost around EURO$27 for up to 5 people but make sure u buy is using the vanding machine provided and not
from the counter itself as they will charge around EURO$2 more then normal price. What nice about this ticket is, we are able to use it to go as well as to come back to where we started, plus........plus all access, i repeat, all access to all those trains inside the city minus the fast train that is. Fuh......what a great bargain don't you think. Imagine normal ticket, and not the group ticket like ours,
cost around EURO$19 for one person with same benefits. So, imagine the amount we manage to save.
Actually, there are a lot of group package price as well as individual price cater for different time as well as benefits. Perhaps you can ask more with the person at the counter for more information before procceding to buy ok.

Remember when i said, you can buy the ticket from a vanding machine, well, you need to know how to read German first before buying it ok as there are no English version wordings cater for tourist in the displayed LCD.....but to our luck, a good samaritan came to our help, who coincidently was standing behind us at the counter at that time. We were having trouble with the process of buying the ticket but she manage to help us pull through and not only that, she took us to our destination as coincidently again, she was actually meeting a friend over at the place we planed to go visit.
With her help, we get to know more about Germany and how to go to places using train. Besides that, she also explain on certain local culture that we found it to be interesting as it can't be seen in our place back home. Bottom line is, her presence make us feel more like home and this definately help us in our journey into the unknown. Unfortunately, we have to go separate way when we reached the Munich main train station but nevertheless, we had a great time. So for this, i tribute this blog to her to show our appreciation for her help.

Well, speaking of train, i would be telling you guys a little bit about the route that we took from Burghausen til we reach Munich, which is our destination.
Below are the route we took, i mean the train route which it took......kekekeke......

Burghausen --> Burgkirchen --> Gendorf --> Kastl (Oberbay) --> Altotting --> Heiligenstatt (Obb) --> TuBling --> Muhldorf (Oberbay)

Please take note that you will need to change train at Muhldorf as there is no direct train to Munich from Burghausen.
Another note you need to take down is that you need to take the train schedule booklet from the train station where you are boarding ok as you need to time your arrival and departure time and if you miss one train, you might need to wait a while before another one comes.
By the way, this trip, from Burghausen to Muhldorf, took around 35 minutes. The trip from Muhldorf to Munich would be longer as it would take around 50 minutes more then the one we spent for Burghausen-Muhldorf trip. Below is the route taken from Muhldorf to Munich:

Muhldorf --> Amphing --> Weidenbach --> Schwindegg --> Dorfen Bahnhof --> Thann Matzbach --> Walpertskirchen --> Horlkorfen --> Markt Schwaben
--> Munchen OST --> Munchen Hbf
